Always Something Different

Jeff and Michelle Taylor are a husband-and-wife team. They have been participating in Farmer's Market since 2016. They have lived in Richmond since 2003, and have always been active in the community. They coached soccer and basketball when their boys were young. They were active in PTO for eight years. Now that their boys are grown, being part of the market is a great way to be part of the community. Both Jeff and Michelle are retired and enjoy meeting new people at the market each week as well as seeing familiar faces.  All items we sell are handmade. They also take custom orders.

Meet Ali and Curtis, cattle and pork producers, and owners of Southern Cut Meats!
Shop our fresh beef and pork by the share, grab an individual cut, or try one of our customized assortment baskets.
We commit to consistently provide the finest quality meat only from animals we raise on our farm directly to your family’s table. We appreciate that consistency matters and that extra effort, like vacuum sealed packaged products, USDA Inspected and dry aging for maximum tenderness, is required to achieve a prime cut of meat.

Wild Vine Market

What a Bargain!

Wild Vines Market was started by 2 friends in 2023. We wanted to provide Madison Co with locally grown cut flowers. Last year was our first year at the market and we enjoyed building a customer base that will continue to grow this year. We also provide baked goods such as cookies, sweet breads, cake pops, granola and more. We have farm fresh chicken eggs and season craft items.

Gail & Danny_edited.jpg

Redbud Farm

So Many Items!

We are Danny and Gail Wilson and have lived in Richmond since 2018, residing in a neighborhood near Valley View Ferry that many Madison County residents will know as the Bent.   We transplanted here from Indianapolis, Indiana, to live closer to our youngest daughter, a Morehead grad who decided she and her horses never wanted to leave Kentucky.  We have a son who is a platoon sergeant with the 82nd Airborne and lives with his wife and adorable 2-year-old in North Carolina.  The Air Force led our oldest daughter to settle in Arizona where she met her husband, and they have an adorable 6-year-old and 2-year-old.  We both served our community as educators; Gail taught elementary, and Danny was an athletic director.  In our retirement, we have turned our interests and hobbies into something we can share with the community via the farmers market.
Danny is honing his skills doing woodcrafts, turning out kitchen tools, charcuterie boards and trays, game boards, hand-turned ink pens, bird houses, vases, and other gift items made from Kentucky-sourced hardwoods.   He also loves learning about the soil and restorative agriculture and gardening.  Thus, he maintains a worm farm, producing vermicompost and worm tea, which are excellent soil amendments.  Stop by our booth where we sell those products and Danny will explain their benefits and uses.  Danny also is a beekeeper and member of the Madison County Beekeepers Association and will have honey to offer when it becomes available.
Gail loves working with watercolor.  Her previous experience with painting was in high school, some five decades ago, and her art teacher’s words still come back to her.  She produces hand-painted greeting cards, bookmarks, and framed pictures to sell.  She also enjoys making fragrant hand-poured soy candles.
2023 was our first year ever being at the Madison County Farmers Market.  As a Kentucky Proud vendor, we absolutely loved working alongside the other vendors and meeting the community up close.  We have loved seeing some of our customers return week after week, many just stopping by to check in with us and chat.  We are looking forward with much excitement to the 2024 market season.

Open Window Scents Soap Kitchen

LaDonna Durham

My name is LaDonna Durham. I am the owner of Open Window Scents Soap Kitchen in Richmond, KY. We are Kentucky Proud® and Appalachia Proud® Members.

I grew up in Richmond and graduated from Madison Central High School in 1977, then relocated in 1979. We moved back to Richmond in 2020 to be closer to our family. I'm married to Rick Durham for 45 years and we have two children and 3 granddaughters.

I retired from Toyota in Georgetown in 2023 after a 35-year career. I worked in the Paint Department, IT department, Quality Engineering Department, and the North American Production Support Training Center.

I am currently working for myself, which is a great feeling. We have a small, family-owned business that makes high-quality hand-crafted soaps, each bar is hand-cut and hand-wrapped.

We make the soap with skin-loving oils such as Coconut oil, Sustainable Palm oil, Olive oil, and castor oil, using a traditional Hot Process method.

Our Soaps are available in two stores in Richmond, Newby Country Store and Second & Main.

Additionally, our soaps are available at My Old Ky Home Gift shop, Hidden Trove in Georgetown, Completely Ky in Frankfort, Green Street Gifts in Versailles, Georgetown Peddlers Mall, CBD Farmacy in Nicholasville, and our Salt soaps are available at the Lexington Salt Cave.

We are on Facebook and Instagram, look for Open Window Scents Soap Kitchen.

Hosta Haven & Perennial Paradise

Quality Guaranteed!

Hello Madison County Farmers Market customers and enthusiasts!

Allow us to introduce ourselves; we are Leon & Kelli Rutledge, owners and operators of Kelli’s Hosta Haven & Perennial Paradise licensed nursery and landscape company. In addition to plants, we also raise a variety of ducks and chickens, offering farm fresh eggs.

Our passion for plants and all things outdoors led us to leave our home state of Michigan in 2018 and head south in pursuit of that passion.  We moved around for a minute in search of the best location to set the gears in motion and Richmond has by far been the most welcoming.

Last year was our first year as a vendor at the market and our business took off on us, sometimes at an overwhelming pace, but we kept up.  We made many new friends and connections and look forward to more of the same this season.

While we’re working with three lots in a trailer park, we’re working harder than ever to reach our goals to expand in the very near future to better serve our clients and community.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this wonderful market and community, we can’t wait to see you all very soon!!
